I know the 540i is much quicker with a higher top speed. And I'm sure I'd enjoy the acceleration of the 540i. But I really don't have much of a opportunity to drive faster than 100 mph. STEP 1: Do the 5-minute DMM test of the 4 wheel sensors; if more than one test bad, you're probably doing the test wrong; if any one tests bad, then go to the step 2; otherwise go to step 3. STEP 2: If any one sensor tests bad, doublecheck at the wheel after cleaning them off and checking the wires visibly.
The E39’s OEM front-end parts are made by Lemforder. I believe that if you buy the part from a dealer, curiously it comes without the bushing, but if you buy the Lemforder part from an aftermarket supplier, it comes with the bushing pressed in (and the BMW logo scratched off).
